When you think of how life began from the time people originally existed, our ancestors lived a nomadic life as hunters and gatherers. In present day, we still have that itch to travel and roam the earth. The last several years has inspired a move back to this nomadic life still retaining some of the modern comforts and technology but this need to travel and explore is within us. How many people have you seen on social media opting to live in their vans and travel around the country. Is it truly staggering. Travel has become essential.
Living a Nomadic Life
Travel is part of our DNA, our makeup. Our ancestors were moving to different towns and villages, wandering until they found a place with resources, rich land, a welcoming society, a place to call home. Have we changed so much? Yes of course we have modern comforts, we no longer hunt for food. Everything is in nice neat packages in the supermarket. We are still drawn to travel, to explore, to have new experiences. Now it just includes technology and modern conveniences.
Living a simpler life, using portable hot plates, showering in gyms, exploring all the beauty of nature. With all the modern comforts of life, why do we think this is starting to take hold? Why are people so much more inspired by seeing and doing more, reveling in experiences, exchanging some modern comforts to follow our nomadic ancestors.
We were jumping out of our skin when we were confined to our homes during the pandemic. Now we look at Instagram and save all the places we want to see, the new adventures we want to experience. We have better access to see all the beauty around us. With all my travels, I loved the trips that were full of surprises, where I didn’t know what I would see next. It is was exciting to be a nomad and truly discover.
Never Take Travel for Granted, Follow Your Need to Travel
So now we never take travel for granted. We cherish every moment, live for these new and unique experiences. We are adaptive and therefore when in a new environment we generally thrive and immerse ourselves in it. It is part of our DNA. We explore, we try new foods and we soak up the beauty and culture around us. Travel has become essential.
